We are happy to announce that Queen’s University Archives and W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections are welcoming researchers back into their reading rooms to consult their collections by appointment.

This service will be available on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 9:00 am to 12:00 am and 1:00 to 4:00 pm, in order to ensure the safety of patrons and library staff. Booking is open now and the first appointment will be available on September 21, 2020.

All individual appointments must be booked in advance through archives@queensu.ca or jordan.library@queensu.ca. Users must meet with staff virtually at least 48 hours before their appointment to clarify requests, identify materials you wish to see that cannot be found electronically, and to review instructions on how to access the spaces safely. All users are required to follow the university and health safety guidelines. Per normal operations, food and drink are not permitted.

We strongly encourage researchers to bring devices to take images of the items and collections that they consult as scanners and printers are not available.
