Treaties Recognition Week: a display at Lederman Law Library

Post Date:
Nov 3, 2021

In Ontario, Treaties Recognition Week takes place the first week of November. Introduced in 2016, it is one way to honour the importance of treaties and to learn more about treaty rights and treaty relationships.

Along with general resources, the display in the law library focuses on Treaty 9. Queen’s has a special connection to that treaty, as the Archives hold the MacMartin Diaries, which are now central to litigation on its proper interpretation. Browse the display to learn more.
