Why materials are non-circulating
Many books in the Art Collection are “non-circulating” because they are expensive and difficult to replace, including exhibition catalogs and catalogues raisonnés. Other libraries do not lend these works and they are rarely available for purchase as e-books. It is part of the library's collection stewardship of these special materials that they do not generally circulate. Please see the Art History guide for a description of the full range of criteria used to determine circulation status.
Requests for use of non-circulating materials
Please complete this form if you are a faculty member, researcher, or graduate student. The Art Librarian will review the request and reply to you directly. Circulation permission will involve a one-time override for four weeks and this needs to be completed by full-time staff on weekdays between 9-5.
