Humanities & Social Sciences Unit

This unit serves Arts & Science (Humanities & Social Sciences), Smith School of Business, the School of Public Policy, and related research centres. The unit builds print, multimedia, and online collections aligned with Queen's programs and researcher interests. These materials are highlighted through virtual guides, course-integrated instruction, and research consultation.

Services

  • Assisting library users, in person and virtually, with finding information
  • Consultations with your subject liaison librarian on developing student research skills through: targeted class sessions (e.g. disciplinary tools, advanced search, citation management); library course guides in onQ; and diverse research/inquiry/project assignments
  • Assistance with knowledge syntheses (for example, scoping, systematic and rapid reviews)
  • Evaluating and acquiring materials in support of the academic and research needs of faculty and students including support for EDII initiatives
